Premium Intraocular Lenses (IOLs)

Advancements in lens implant technology have made it possible for patients to see better than ever after cataract surgery. Premium lens implants give patients a broader range of focus than standard lens implants, and allow most patients to enjoy excellent distance and near vision without glasses.

The surgeons at Palo Alto Eye Group use the latest technology to choose the optimal lens implant for each patient. This includes the use of the ORA system with Verifeye+ technology and Zeiss's Callisto system, when indicated, to produce the best surgical results. ORA, which stands for Optiwave Refractive Analysis,  is a sophisticated device that provides surgeons with real-time measurements of the eye during the cataract procedure. The Callisto computer-assisted cataract surgery system provides surgeons with the ability to align the lens implant in the optimal orientation after implantation. Together, these technologies help your surgeon tailor the procedure to your individual eye and optimize your visual outcome.

Premium intraocular lenses are generally not covered by medical insurance, so an out of pocket fee usually applies. If you are contemplating cataract surgery, ask your doctor whether you are a good candidate for premium lens implants.
